The cornerstone for the interior design of this stately home was literally stone. All design elements flowed from the color and texture of stone that the clients fell in love with for a two story great room fireplace. The next important selection was a dining room rug, which provided a complimentary color scheme of sage, green, gold, cream and brown. From there we went back to hard material selections of cabinetry and surfaces before proceeding with groupings of comfortable English and French furniture.
This project is a good illustration of how valuable it is to have a solid working relationship between the builder, interior designer and client that begins at the blueprint stage. The constant shifting between "big picture" decisions and small interior details results in a truly integrated and harmonious home. |
