Showhouse Dining Room

Main Portfolio Page

Dining together is one of life's most intimate pleasures. My deepest wish is after designing a beautiful space is that my clients share their home with friends and family. Thus I created this dining room as if to prepare for a real life dinner party.

Inspired by a Boutique hotel theme, I have shared my collection of hotel silver which includes serving pieces from various cruise ships, hotels and railroads. I truly do use these pieces and each time I imagine the many conversations, families and events that surrounded them.
My mother, since I was young, always inspired me to set a beautiful table for my guests so I used her Vintage china and glassware along with some pieces of my own collection to create a unique table setting.  My menu is one I recently prepared a few weeks ago for an intimate dinner party.  I share my mother’s passion for cooking and love to do it for the people I care about.

My room began with the beautiful textured chandelier. Textures throughout the room in various shades of silver, charcoal and gray create an ombré effect unifying the space. The faux leather on the dining chairs is sophisticated yet practical. The Silver leaf finish on the front of the buffet contrasts nicely with the black frame.  The drapery was created to lend an architectural element to the panel’s header mimicking finger molding, white the textured wallpaper adds an organic feel to the room. The gorgeous wool and silk rug shades the entire room in colors of silver and gray. The handsome étagère is stately and clean lined serving the purpose for the hotel silver collection. This dining room is an example of today’s modern luxury.

Art is a crucial element in any well designed space.  Whether it is a poster or original oil, art enriches a room and creates meaning and memories for its occupants. I hope you enjoy my selections.
